I Believe... [Warning: Strobe Lights and Personal Castigation Ahead]

By Don Hall

...that at some point every 50+ white man in America must face the dire fact that he is the obnoxious uncle at Thanksgiving who can’t help but to drink a bit too much corn whiskey and rant about politics.

...that, in the spirit of appropriate trigger warnings, can we have some that warn us that a comedy show will be more like a lecture on how awful white guys are?

...that the only reason to continue your Faceborg membership at this point is the same reason you still played dodgeball in high school despite the meaner, stronger kids pummeling your masochistic face with balls thrown: fear of being left out of the social scene.

...that intent is equally as important as impact when considering social and political discourse. To eliminate intent from the equation tosses out the human tendency for making mistakes.

...that the greatest trick the Devil ever pulled was convincing us he didn’t exist, and the greatest trick we pulled on ourselves was believing Donald Trump was ever anything more than a crooked, egomaniacal, film flam man on a reality television show. Why we take either seriously is beyond me.
