I Believe… [Christmas 2019]

By Don Hall

…that if one only embraces the lessons of Christmas movies in December, the point of allowing and hoping for redemption, rehabilitation, and joy in humanity is missed.

…that even bad Christmas songs are better than non-Christmas songs.

…that if you’re buying gifts with the expectation of getting gifts, you’re doing it wrong. That’s trading rather than giving.

…that among the most excellent Christmas memories I have (aside from the time I found all my Santa Claus presents in the closet, knew Mom was Santa, and put them back because spoiling the facade meant no more presents) are the Christmas Eve Food Bank days of helping hungry people stock up for their holiday.

…that the older you get, the less you want (unless it’s pharmaceuticals and sleep and then you want it all). Do your AARP family member a solid and gift them generic drugs from Canada and room for a lot of naps this holiday season.
