I Believe… [No One Is Above Law, Right?]

By Don Hall

…that, by the logic that states if you support Trump you support his bigotry, if you support the Cubs you support Trump thus you support his bigotry. So, when is the boycott and protest of the Cubs?

…that, at this point, the woke guy who starts in on white privilege sounds no different to me than the born again guy who asks me if I’ve accepted Jesus in my life. “Woke” and “Born Again” are now so similar, the woke need gospel songs to sing while lecturing the rest of us on our sins. And Katy Perry doesn’t count.

…that the beautiful, brutal sunshine and heat of Las Vegas is only offset by the fact that when you drop a deuce in a bathroom that lacks air conditioning it puts you in a hot box of your own shit making the experience a bit like being imprisoned in a French Guiana work camp or sitting in the Oval Office with our Commander-in-Queef.

…that no one is above the law except brutal police, billionaire hedge fund managers, a percentage of rapists, and undocumented immigrants. Apart from that, no one else. Oh. And the president.

…that rationality and morality are not good bedfellows. Morality is positioned as a matter of faith in a cosmic balance between Good and Evil. Rational people understand there is no such thing outside of movies that feature the Devil or hobbits.
