• If your truth doesn’t consider the collective experiences of others, it’s not a truth, it’s your personal fiction. Perception is not reality. Perception is selfishness.

• Social media has two redeeming qualities. The first is that it allows you keep tabs on the receding hairlines and increasing gut size of your childhood enemies, and it makes it real easy to lie to yourself about how well your doomed relationship is going.

• Shoulders are sexy.

• Being offended is a choice. Just like it’s a choice to live your unrealistic truth. It’s okay to live in a fantasy world of discomfort but why would you want to? And don’t be surprised if no one fun wants to join you there.

• I don’t dislike Miley Cyrus, but her voice sounds like she has a mouth full of marshmallows.

• What a wonderful surprise to check your bank account and see a deposit from a book publisher. It ain’t much, but it’s something. And what’s more, it’s nice to know people are reading my blood and sweat-soaked bullshit.
