I Believe... [GenX Kids Were Monsters]

...that, if you’re honest with yourself, you know that you and your prepubescent friends would’ve beaten E.T. with rebar and hammers, would’ve absolutely ostracized Edward Scissorhands, and would’ve taken Rick Moranis’s shrunken kids and put them in a mason jar with a firecracker.

...that the person who makes the argument that ‘forgiveness without accountability is bullshit’ doesn’t understand the fundamentals of forgiveness.

...that the battle against irreverence and skewering sacred cows is a fight for control in a world far beyond control. The more cows we make sacred, the more opportunity to slay them. The more to slay, the more boots on the necks of those who skewer.

...that it is absolutely fine if you decide to identify as anything or anyone you want to identify as long as you don’t insist that I give a shit or that you get special laws requiring that I do.

...that Twitter has never been nor will be the town square. Twitter is and has always been the Thunderdome for people unable to weild a chainsaw or throw a punch. It’s a series of middle school fights with a lot of gawkers on the sidelines. It’s a community bulletin board that just happens to be used by our most petty. It’s a pretend debate where screaming over your opponent is considered solid technique.
