Notes from the Post-it Wall | Week of February 6, 2022

By David Himmel

 • There’s nothing like a long night’s work ahead of you with a glass of scotch and a stomach full of McDonald’s to get you through it.

• There was absolutely no reason Sex and the City needed a reboot. Or a new chapter, which is what they’re calling it. Oh, except for the cash grab. And yeah, I watched it. Guilty.

• I wish I had more time to iron my clothes, write my stories, and read more books. Instead, I fart through the wrinkles reading work emails with the TV on.

• You know you got yourself a decent life when the thing that upsets you most in a day is Amazon delivering the wrong item.

• I’m not cut out to be a foster dog guy. I’m too easily emotionally manipulated by canines.

• The only way to succeed in America without turning to a life of corporate crime, crime that actually gets punished, or become a member of the clergy is to lean into patience and persistence, and dumb fucking luck. Also, a smidge of talent.
