• If you need any more proof that police violence is systemic and not just a few bad apples, look at the defense used by cops. I did what I was trained to do. I followed department procedures. That’s the system working. That’s the system telling them to use excessive force. This isn’t about bad apples. It’s about a bad orchard.

• What a relief to have an active Russian war to worry about. I’d grown so bored with worrying about the pandemic.

• Buying hemorrhoid cream is embarrassing. It shouldn’t be, but it is. Don’t buy it with gum or Red Bull or something moderately—but never—distracting, double down. “Just these two items. Preparation H and this bottle of Gun Oil sex lube, please.”

• One of the Oath Keepers pleaded guilty to sedition. Could be going to jail for the better part of a decade. Boy, those antifa folks sure are committed to the mission.

• Tina Fey is this generation’s Woody Allen. She’s got the glasses, the self-deprecating bag of tricks… everything Woody had, except, you know, the alleged rape and Judaism.

• Yes, you should feel bad for clicking “skip ads” on YouTube when there’s an ad to send assistance to Ukraine. You should feel really bad about it. I do. But I also really want to watch that Thermals concert.
