Notes From the Post-it Wall | Week of December 29, 2024

By David Himmel

• Jimmy Carter’s greatest failing is that he was too good a man to be President of the United States.

• Question to understand and converse, not to challenge.

• I’m all for making mistakes in life. But, lately, I feel I’m playing Super Mario Bros. and I only have a few more mistakes to make before it’s Game Over.

• The thing about new beginnings is that they give you new opportunities to workshop old stories to a yet-to-be-bored audience.

• I feel it’s more cultural appropriation for me to sing the lyrics of  CCR’s  “Fortunate Son” than anything by N.W.A.

• Superman fighting for “truth, justice, and the American Way” feels a bit like nationalism.
