I Believe...

...that with the ascendancy of emotion as the gauge for personal truth comes the descendancy of factual truth. The trade off has consequences that are becoming more and more apparent.

...that the act of trimming away the unnecessary fat and nonsense from your living space, your office space, and your life is a healthy choice. Pruning your tree of uneven relationships is a more hardcore version of cleaning out your sock drawer but every bit as important. And too many ladles and t-shirts is just ridiculous...

...that one undeniable conclusion the recent anonymous article posted on Literate Ape that caused so much controversy is that HOW you say something has massive impact on whether people hear it or not. The lens of outrage colors even the most reasonable point of view.

...that the millions who immediately upon watching President Obama address the nation with grace and dignity, after praising him for being the kind of class act we all would want from a leader, woke up the next morning and instantly cast off the man's example and returned to throwing shit and outrage at people they've never met...

...that things are going to get much, much worse in this country before things get better. But I believe they will get better. Until they get worse again. Because we are stupid, short-sighted creatures with a gift for self-destruction and a inherent need to have an enemy at all times.
