I Believe… ["Unapologetic" is a Pass For Being an Asshole]

…that nothing indicates the inherent nastiness of human beings than the need to glom onto a grievance and demonize the Other. Finding an enemy is a diseased way of making one feel they matter in a world of overpopulation and limited resource.

…that Jeff Sessions is right, the Bible does say to follow the laws. It also says to enslave people, stone people for eating bacon, and was written by people trying to convince the masses that the sun is not a deity and that sex is really bad. Perhaps fealty to an instruction manual that equates worshipping idols with unforgivable sin is a poor fit for a country bowing down to Beyoncé and cheap phones at Wal-Mart.

…that there is a razor's edge of difference between being "unapologetic" and being a narcissistic shitstain. Being confident in oneself and refusing to apologize for sucky behavior are not the same thing.

…that when the president of the United States shakes hands with a known bloodthirsty dictator and puts undocumented families in cages in Texas, the best way to defeat him is to spit insults. It will go down in history that screaming "Fuck Trump" is what finally beat back the Huns.

…that camping is simply people with money pretending to be homeless (except without the tents made of cardboard boxes, the crippling poverty and the smell of seven-day old urine.)
