Notes from the Post-it Wall | Week of October 27, 2019

• The best thing about Facebook right now is Gordon Logan. Follow him. Friend request him. Whatever it is. Just do it™.

• When someone knows they’re wrong but can’t admit it or is unwilling to take the steps necessary to right that wrong due to pride or self-preservation, they panic. Then they lash out. And they become more and more wrong through their actions and words. That’s what’s happening with the Republican Party and most marriages right now.

• Once an adult, Halloween is becomes fun once you have a kid of your own and dental insurance.

• Perception is an interesting thing. I always saw my mother as a great Halloween Mom. She made awesome costumes for us. Her idea and application to make me a werewolf in second grade won me the coveted Scariest Costume Award. However, from my mom’s perspective, she didn’t like the holiday; didn’t feel she was any good at costumes. When we learned this about each other, we were both pretty surprised. What can we learn from this? Our perceptions, our feelings are fickle currency.

• Farting after taking a big dump means you didn’t quite finish the job. Go back. And consider a change of underpants, for Pete’s sake.

• Being self-aware and not being self-absorbed is like walking a tightrope. If you’re not careful, you’ll turn that tight rope into a noose and hang yourself.
