Notes from the Post-it Wall | Week of March 21, 2021

By David Himmel

The Ten Commandments does not hold up. It really downplays the fact* that Moses murdered a man, then, knowing he committed a crime, hid the body and fled the country.

• The Carters built The Carter Center and homes through Habitat for Humanity. The Obamas podcast and cut deals with Netflix. Let that speak for the character of former occupants of the White House.

 • All this talk about telling stories is just that—talk. Where’s the action? Step away from your self-serving microphone and pick up a hammer. Do something. And no, pontificating does not count as something.

• If equity, equality, diversity, and inclusion infringe on your religious beliefs, you and your religion are wrong. Or, you’re an asshole.

• #DefundDomestication

• We ought to start posting photos of the horrors being shot with an automatic weapon can cause. Maybe if we see these realistic images of soldiers, civilians, innocents, gang members, and children, maybe then we’ll realize that automatic weapons are for nothing more than murdering or severely harming other humans and maybe, just maybe, we’ll take some real action to—NO! not take anyone’s 2nd Amendment rights away—greatly reduce the ease and frequency of mass shootings. But probably not. Because as a People, we are awful. So, I guess, let’s just all get ready to have our brains blown out by a lunatic who probably voted Republican while reading about Meghan Markle’s latest vagina steam in People magazine in the checkout line at Mariano’s.
