Notes from the Post-it Wall | Week of April 24, 2022

By David Himmel

• Missing typos is the most universal human error and I cannot accept it when it happens to me.

• I like living the schedule of my union electrician grandfather. The benefit of starting your day at 3 a.m. is that 3 p.m. makes it Miller Time. Sure, he was an alcoholic for a fair chunk of his life, but the good work got done and he always beat the bar crowds.

• If Ben Franklin had been a better husband and father, we wouldn’t have a country. Something to consider when considering your passions.

• For all the things I hate about Chicago, I am immediately in love again when piss-soaked drunkards smoke cigarettes on the Red Line at 9 am.

• This whole Johnny Depp–Amber Heard thing… I’m starting to think their lawyers are really characters being played by Andy Kaufman. #AndyLives

• Mastering disappointment is the most important skill a person can have.
