I Believe... [The Hypocrisy of Online Activism]
...that fully closing the book on a part of your life that was blown all to hell is harder if you’ve decided to avoid being angry or blaming anyone for the devastation. Better, more adult, smarter but definitely harder.
...that it’s less important that Trump go to prison than it is that he be prevented from ever holding public office again. It’d be justice if he were to rot in a cell but not necessary.
...that when memories have been poisoned, it’s important to parse out which ones are tainted and which ones are not. Remembering happier times without seeing things as a huge waste is overall a solid and healthy plan.
...that the terms fascist, Nazi, and white supremacy have been rendered as meaningless as harm, violence, and mental health. The watering down and expansion of commonly understood terms may feel like progress but the endgame is to fracture common understanding of one another.
...that if you are really pissed about capitalism as a system yet are reading this online on a computer or smartphone requiring WiFi, you’re a full of shit. That goes for anyone “protesting” capitalism on Twitter or Tik Tok.
