Notes from the Post-it Wall | Week of November 17, 2024

By David Himmel

• I’ve grown pretty comfortable with existential panic.

• I want to improve myself so I can be the ideal person and, thus, always be right. This obtuse self-aggrandizing is something I’m working on.

• How do you want to be defined? By one action? By some opinion that could evolve? By a mistake, regrettable only with hindsight? Or by the sum of your parts? Okay, do that for other people. Start the trend.

• Politics are the new religion but far more annoying. At least with religion, they segregated themselves with summer vacation spots—The Catskills vs. Branson.

• I know it’s coming. Every year, I know it’s coming. And yet, when it arrives, I’m never ready for winter.

• Funny how Trump makes George W. Bush and Dick Cheney look good. Apparently, we don’t mind policies as much as we mind avoiding chaos.
