...that expecting people who still use the verbs ‘videotape,’ ‘film,’ and the phrase ‘roll up the windows’ to shift their use of pronouns is a stretch.

...that focused interest in the politics of the day is indistinguishable from an obsession with professional sports.

...that, when stuck in the sand on a bicycle, one should focus on inches rather than yards.

...that a more effective approach to shame is mockery.

...that often patiently re-establishing your presence in a specific setting is superior to barreling in, guns blazing.
