Notes from the Post-it Wall | Week of May 31, 2020

By David Himmel

The NOAA is predicting an above-normal hurricane season this year. Good news is that our cities are already boarded up. Silver linings, folks. Silver linings.

• Not that it matters, at this point, to those who hate him and those who love him, but it’s pretty obvious Donald Trump has never held a book in his life.

• I’m all for expressing your emotions. Write them down, shout them into a pillow, whack some balls at the batting cages, or kickbox a heavy bag. Right now we all have a lot of emotions we need to get out. The hardest part about expressing them is that I’m not sure which emotions to start with. My heart is a rat king of feelings.

• The best kind of stress is working hard against a deadline and your two-year-old son telling you to “Close ‘puter, Daddy. Play,” then taking your hand and forcing you to have a little fun.

• While most of you have given up on grooming during the quarantine, I’ve been perfecting mine. Look out world, I look okay!

• There is a clear difference between offering an opposing view and being a smug, know-it-all contrarian. If you can’t tell the difference, you’re the latter.
