Notes from the Post-it Wall | Week of January 8, 2023

By David Himmel

• I know who I am; I’m trying to understand why I am who I am.

• Kids keep us young. Parenthood ages us.

• I’m starting to think self-loathing, like braces, doesn’t look as cute the older you get.

• Jesus… the week of Elvis Presley’s birthday and his daughter, Lisa Marie, dies. The Universe doesn’t care about us, but sometimes, it feels that it does. And it feels like it’s a wry practical joker.

• Some good advice I received this week: Push yourself, don’t protect yourself.

• If we’re going to keep rebooting things, it’s high time we rebooted Welcome Back, Kotter. John Travolta can play the titular role. It’ll be canceled after two seasons.
