I Believe… [Balancing Anxiety & Grit]
...that the notion that power disparities between groups and people that permanently impact the trajectory of success is a myth. Power is a goddamn circus tent in a windstorm, collapsing and reforming every time the clowns inside decide to change the act. And most of the time, the so-called powerful aren’t nearly as in control as we like to pretend they are.
...that you can’t shame a generation into horniness. You can’t meme your way into genuine connection. And you can’t blame Gen Z for hiding when the only time they saw sex celebrated was either in a TikTok thirst trap or a lawsuit.
...that anxiety and grit are like two characters in a dark comedy—each one flawed, but when they work together, they can create something powerful. The trick is not letting either one take over the show. Anxiety is the warning system; grit is the drive to keep going. Balance them, and you’ve got a shot at not just surviving, but thriving.
...that the debate over banning hate speech versus censorship is a balancing act between the protection of individuals and the preservation of liberty. It’s the difference between treating the disease and amputating the limb. And while amputating might seem like the clean, decisive way to eliminate the infection, you have to wonder what we lose in the process.
...that Victim Society and Honor Society are both mirrors, reflecting our collective fear of irrelevance. We want to matter. That’s the core of it. We want to be seen, heard, valued. Whether through the lens of suffering or the facade of strength, the need is the same.
