I Believe… [If You Appropriate, Pay the Toll]
…that cultural appropriation is best addressed by making sure those cultures appropriated are handsomely paid for it. Even then, it's iffy but economic redress is concrete rather than an apology.
…that victims of crime/abuse/harassment should never be allowed to determine the sentences of those who victimized them even if they have public opinion on their side.
…that when you are told you aren't welcome somewhere because it's a "safe space" you can choose to be a dick about it or shrug it off. Being told you aren't welcome ahead of time is better than being bounced once you're there.
…that a FaceBorg post "to people who voted for this racist psychopathic failed steak salesman, you need to fuck off" is nothing more than the empty posturing of someone wanting to appear righteous by screaming into a Dirty Moore Stew can, throwing the can to the ground, and daring anyone to pick it up. The people who voted for him didn't see it and, if they did, I'm certain your entreaty to fuck off did mountains of good.
…that, for those either unemployed or hustling the freelance economy, put some shoes on. As soon as you have shoes on, it feels like you're no longer lounging in your apartment. Also, getting work done and picking your toenails almost never mix.
