American Discourse is an Ethnic Telephone Game
In most cases, the traditions in America were created by white people of European descent for white people of European descent. And when this nation was built, many of these white people thought that it would stay that way.
Predictions For 2018
Anyway, I'm the best one at this. I have a pretty good idea about what is going to happen in 2018. Here are the biggest revelations for the year to come!
Good To The Last Drop
There aren't ANY white people. Science and your own weird rules just killed them all!
We Built This Shitty
If we believe in America, we have to know that all sides of America are America too. That means America is nauseous right now. Maybe the fact that both sides see each other as other is the biggest sickness we as a national entity have.
Holiday Season
Halloween? Go nuts? Be a slutty nurse or a guy from TV for a night. Who cares? It's not The Purge. I'm staying inside and watching Charlie Brown.
We're All Going To Die!
If the experience of life has taught me anything, it has taught me that people like staying alive. Somewhere in the very essence of what it is to be alive is that special feeling that philosophers call “qualia of consciousness." Being alive feels like something. Here we are, inside our little meatboxes, looking out at all the other meatboxes and we know they’re feeling like they’re alive too. Most all of us like being alive. At the most primitive level, we hate that we won’t be alive at some point. The fear of not being alive anymore is huge. We don’t want to die.
Whitish Lives Matter | Literate Ape 2067
Dateline: Old Chicago, 2067
It’s been 25 years since that magic year of 2042 where, as predicted, whites were no longer the majority in the Reorganized States of America. Everything went as the social scientists predicted. Now, there are far more People of Color in the country. There are now far more People of Color in power throughout the country.
Deconstruction Of a Pledge
I pledge allegiance to the flag of the United States of America...
How To Talk Small
It's my job to make small talk. I smile. I nod. I squint an understanding squint. Sometimes I mean it. Sometimes I don't. That's my job.
My name's Jack. It's nice to meet you.
Welcome to the fourth biggest, family oriented, entertainment destination in the north central upper third in the lower forty-eight without a mascot.
What The Duck!
I mean, I understand a joke. I heard one weeks ago and I legitimately LOLed. But this type of misrepresentation of an entire species of aquatic bird is irresponsible, despicable and immoral. Most ducks I have met are simply trying to get on with it. Just living life. A hard working dad, finding fish to regurgitate into mom’s bill. An ever vigilant mother who leads 12 kids across the street, without government assistance or welfare of any kind.
Personal Science
There are a lot of other things we figure out during that time of life, as well. Basically, we are learning the rules of this new game we've been thrust into, called Life. Once certain lessons are learned, they can be internalized and you can stop testing them. Like gravity. It's pretty reliable for babies on earth. We take it for granted. In fact, if it isn’t learned and internalized, chances are that juvenile human will die.
I'm Not Saying There Are Aliens
I know there are all types of people in the world. I know there are types that believe in weird stuff, who don’t believe in weird stuff, who want to believe in weird stuff and can’t and who don’t want to believe in weird stuff but do. I know you’re out there. I have made contact with each of your kind.
Addicted To Nice
There are those who would rather smile and sing a Disney tune than discuss racial injustice. There are those who'd rather make an eye-rolling joke about the violence in Chicago's streets than make a concerted effort to discuss the policies, systems and humans that are both responsible for and affected by the violence. There are people who don't think family dinner is a good time to talk about these types of things.
A Wild Theory About Road Rage
I think the whole problem is, cars don’t have faces. Horns sound the same when you’re happy as when you’re mad. There’s no communication happening from car to car, so we imagine communication.
I Will Back Down
I am not concerned with being right on every single thing that spews out of my mouth or from these typing fingers. I usually don’t like to dig in. If you come after me in a comment section, I will read the comments. I will read your comments and the next guy’s comments and the next guy’s comments and this might go on for a while. Then I might get tired and play guitar for a while instead. Maybe I’ll hang out with my wife. Or maybe I’ll wash the dishes. Or maybe take a nap…you know, let the old subconscious straighten out my feelings before I come back. Sometimes it takes a lot to back down. But, I assure you, I can do it.
Anxiety is the thing that’s ripped our country apart. It has divided us, caused us to fear and hate those who think and live differently than us, and even caused us to hate those who only slightly disagree with us. It has led to panic and overreaction. And I worry that American Anxiety is only going to exacerbate the social and political divide in this country to the point that there is no coming back.
